Does UPS module calculate by weight & number of items or just weight?

Hey there,

So far I have had good results from the ups module but I ate a big shipping bill today.

We depend on manufacturers to drop ship for us and usually the ups module is fairly close to what the factory charges for shipping.

That was up until today. I had an order with multiple products & weights and we did not even get close to what the factory charged.

Does the ups module take into account individual items and weights or does it lump everything together into one sum?

Any help will be appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I had the correct weight listed however my manufacturer charged me double what my module charged the customer. When I looked it up using the UPS website, the charge was closer to the manufacturers price than what the module charged. Anyone know why?

The UPS module only calculates the weight of a shipment not the total number of packages. That is the drawback. UPS charges by weight & pacakges.
