Default SSL on Mac Lion Server

Is there anyone running a ZenCart site hosted on Mac Lion Server and is able to use a security certificate? I am struggling and would love to get some help.

I have installed a certificate from RapidSSL on my server. If I apply the certificate to my website, and edit the configure files for "true" on use of https, the server wants to use https for the whole site, and not just the pages ZC chooses. This means that I go to a single product-site, the system tries to access a https page that does not excist since ZC does not apply ssl to single product-pages.

Can anyone give simple step-by-step instructions? Or a hint what I may be doing wrong?

Is this hosted or are you attempting to run your own server?

This website responds to all server IP addresses and host names on port 80. If you enable SSL, the default website responds to port 443, and a website on port 80 redirects everything to port 443.
From the osx server guide and it appears that you can only have it one way

So that basicly means that if I want ssl enabled on any part of my website, I have to run the whole website on https. Is there any disadvantages to that? Does it slow down the user experience? Use to much cph power? I see that if I enable ssl on the site, I get errors at least in 2 places. My ZenCart contact form stops working and when something is entered into "search", the user gets a warning that he is about to send data over an unsecured connection (which is strange since both search-page and resultspage are https).
