USPS isn't working after update (caused by renaming old one instead of deleting it)

I just tried the Jan 27 USPS update, and I must have done something wrong because in admin when I go to shipping modules the USPS module is not even in the list and at the top of the page this is the message I get:

Shipping Configuration errors!
Warning: USPS shipping module is either missing the username, or it is set to TEST rather than PRODUCTION and will not work.
If you cannot retrieve USPS Shipping Quotes, contact USPS to activate your Web Tools account on their production server. 1-800-344-7779 or [email protected]


Before I did anything the USPS module was working fine. I wrote down all my settings, then uninstalled the USPS module.
Then I uploaded the 2 files. Went back into admin, and the above is what I get now.

What should I do now?

Can you do a check that you have the right version, there was an issue on the downloads prior to midnight ...

Go to your Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

and select Catalog and click Search ...

You should see:

 * @version $Id: usps.php 18348G 2013-01-27 01:27:00Z ajeh $

I think I know what it is.
Before I uploaded the new versions I renamed the old ones to oldusps.php. I just deleted those and the USPS shipping module is back in admin. I will put in the correct values and see if it works. Will report back in a few minutes

Exactly. You should have used .bak or something OTHER THAN .PHP for the renamed file extension.
Or delete it.

(all *.php files get processed, and since the code inside them duplicates things when you rename the old one as a backup, it causes errors. Renaming using something other than .php would be fine.)
