Default setting up the example domain on page 37 of manual

    Very new to this,
I have set up the zen-cart successfully , I am currently working my way through the manual and on page 37, it explains how to set up a local domain ie:www.example.com , I have followed all the steps , changing the hosts file with the 3 lines as stated, changed the apache conf file to ServerName www.example.com and inserted the same to the apache conf/hosts file,
I have then followed every step stopping and starting apache, making sure I am in administrator mode to change the hosts file, restarting pc,
the page that was showing in the browser prior to all this set up was the following www.inana.org/domains/example
which shows the page EXAMPLE DOMAIN,
However instead of showing the xampp home page when I have gone through all this set up it is still showing the same page,
    can anyone help please
    chipst

Hi, May I ask your advice concerning the xampp package, that was compatible with ZC1.5.1. I had assumed that zc151 was tricky to set up as a Local Domain. The new manual concentrates on instructions to upload to a web hosting site. Kind Regards

    1. Set up XAMPP or whatever webserver engine you intend to use
    2. Copy the Zen Cart files into it (to the htdocs or httpdocs or public_html folder, whichever your server uses) and run zc_install just like you would for a live server.
