Cloning cod payment option

Hello!

I'm working on a project and I have the following situation:

1. Domestic shipping with:
- free shipping for the store home city - I had it separate in zone
- fixed shipping for the domestic country
- fixed shipping for international orders

2. Payment
- paypal - for everywhere
- cod - for all domestic shipping - including the 2 domestic shipping zones on top
- additional payment - for everywhere

How can I have the cod module to show only on domestic orders?

I thought of cloning cod module but I can't figure out how to.

Could you assist?

Seven years ago I asked if COD could be cloned and I recall the reply from AJEH that it couldn't.

My needs were for an Account Holders Only Feature - which I managed to do by cloning CHECK/MONEYORDER (it's still in the plugins area of this site).

I don't know what he meant by 'it can't' but I did it by the following review. It seems to work (or at least I'm not seeing problems). It doesn't add cost or something.

It would be great if in next editions of ZenCart all this messing with payment/shipping modules per only one zone is fixed. Could be based on table principle as in other carts...
