Default cURL error at verification (siteground)

I have been trying to install this at Siteground host for 2 days now, manually. I have notified them and eventhough they recreate the error, their solution is

    1. ignore the message
    2. use their auto installer

What should I do to get it to manually install and get past the error they say to ignore...happens with both 1.3.9h and 1.5.1 versions

They use softalicious as their installer.

Thank you but I thought that too and when they checked and I checked php it claims that cURL is turned on.

"7 - couldn't connect to host" means that CURL is installed but is unable to make connections to outside services. That could be a misconfiguration, or a firewall issue. Any good host can fix that in a few seconds.

If you don't plan to use PayPal or USPS or UPS or FedEx or Authorize.net or Linkpoint/FirstData or any other 3rd party service that depends on CURL, then you can ignore the error and proceed with installation by clicking the Install button at the bottom of the screen.

If you need CURL for the services you intend to use, then you'll need to get them to make CURL work, or you'll need to find a host that knows what they're doing.

    thank
you so very much, I have spent the past many hours with them telling me that it is me and the manual install. Yes the owner will be needing paypal. They are telling me that wiht their installer called softalicious it will install.

I need to let them know so they can fix it.

Try the curltester script and test PayPal specifically, as explained here: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...-Testing-Tools

    Dr. Byte,

I did the check you said to try and sent the results to them also:

    IPNCHECK.PHP - Version 1.3.9

IPN TESTING - Response Received via CURL -- COMMUNICATIONS OKAY

IPN TESTING - Confirmation/Validation response with fsockopen(): FSOCKOPEN() RESPONSE RECEIVED - Communications OKAY

Default method likely to be used for communications is: CURL, with the fallback method being FSOCKOPEN if possible.

    Script finished.

Then it's very possible that the CURL test occurring with zc_install is only failing when trying to reach the zen-cart.com testing server. That may or may not be an indicator of a larger problem. But for now, I'd be inclined to carry on with installation by ignoring the error. Then test PayPal before you get too far into things.

BUT ... I told you to use the curltester.php script, not the ipncheck script. Please go back and do that.
