Customer Account Created Date Rolling Forward

After receiving an inquiry via my cart today, I went looking for a customer. I didn't find her via a name search in the admin panel, so ran a quick SQL query for her e-mail address.

When I went back to the Admin homepage, imagine my elation when I saw that I had a happy number of guests that had created an account today - not a bad day's work for only 8:00 AM!

Then, I clicked on one of the names and lo and behold, every guest on that page had today's date, too. Then I looked at their very low ID numbers and realized something was afoot.

Any ideas on what went wrong?

I would have thought that the Created date would have been the date they opened their account or I loaded them into the Customer table.

Sounds like an old addon run amuck.
And probably related to importing data with wrong values (or NULLs) in the customers_info table, such that the search ends up touching records and updating the NULLs so that they're not null, thus switching them to today's date.

I saw that happen on one site, and the only factor I could verify was that the customers_info data had been imported by someone incorrectly. The problem was fixed by replacing those NULLs with valid data.

This could be something that needs looking into with phpmyadmin.

Well, each day ALL of my customers' accounts are showing that they were created THAT day. Instead of being frozen in time. At first, I thought that maybe someone had updated their information but then when I looked at each record, I realized that it couldnt' be true.
