Default How can I see what is calculating the the gross from the net

If I select taxable goods the gross goes up 23%. I have only one tax zone and that is a common as tax is only added for purchases in the seller home state. I've set up Texas as the zone and set the rate to 7.25%. I've set up my simple store using only the Admin Configuration Tool and and can see my files in the Go Daddy File Manager.

I've read and searched on other threads, but nothing clicks. I've got the taxable goods set to none for now as I can't risk having the tool over charge. I read where the tool won't use and display the gross amount shown in the product screen, but I not even sure how to test that.

If the advice is to edit coded files, I can try, but hopefully this should work from setting I can make in the Admin Tool. I'll get there, but not as soon as I'd like to get this working.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Re checked the tax setting and looks like the texas and zones were in there a couiple time?? Anyway the gross is now coming out twice the tax rate set up 14.5% (7.25% for Texas) and not the 23% I said above.

    The store is www. shop.handnfootgam

This can only be from having your "zones" mis-configured
Most often defined twice - check them and see if this is not the case

    Ok,

Went back and checked and I've cleaned things up. In the catalog when I select taxable goods and put the price in the net box it calculates the gross with the 7.25% tax I've set for Texas. It then displays this gross amount on the store front. Can't have that as this only applies to the sales going to Texas. Ah!

I think I'm good on all the elements in the tutorial, I selected the default names and definiton and had my store zone in the configuation

It's my lack of understanding why it assumes it should apply the tax to the net and then display the gross as the price in the store?

I obviously want this to come in after the buyer has added their state that matches the zone for for which the tax applies.

    Hit me on the head.

    And thanks for your help,

    Bob

    Kobra,

Thanks for helping me fix the sales message on the other thread, it works when you edit then correct file

When, not if, I get this other problem fixed I make a donation and get out of here and spend time learning and not begging.

Appreciate helping me get off the ground, with enough air I can let this run.

No, Sorry I mixed in a subject from another thread you were helping me with and it is fixed. This issue may be partly fixed in that I believe I have the tax zone set up correctly as per the tutorial you sent and your help. What is not fixed is when I set a product up as "taxable goods" it takes the net price and increases it the amount of the zone tax and displays that price on the product in the store front. If I've done this correctly I should not see the price change until it's in the stages of a customer purchase and the customer is from that zone, hence the reason I set the only tax to be applied is for product that will be shipped to Texas (see screen shots in a couple posts ago).

I have no understanding why the gross price would every be displayed on a product in the store front??

    Anymore insights?

    Thanks,

    Bob
