Default How can I create a Gift Certificate of varying values?

Help! Can anyone let me view their website if they have a working gift certificate. Currently the only way it seems to work on my site is to add the gift certificate as products with the price, which mean I would have to create separate gift certificates for prices from $10 and up.

Set up Gift Certificates using Attributes for your preset amounts.

I am still getting the "call for price" button since the price is zero.

    gpsupps10,
I will explain how i have it set up, got the info from a couple different posts so I will credit them here. first from Kim and second from Ajeh.
Make sure the Gift certificate is created correctly:

On the Product Information Page fill in the blanks as follows:
    Products Status:In Stock
    Date Available: leave blank
    Products Manufacturer: leave blank
    Products Name: Gift Certificate
    Product is Free: No
Product is Call for Price: No
    Product Priced by Attributes: Yes
    Tax Class: choose appropriate
Products Price (Net): Your price or zero if pricing by attibutes.
    Products Price (Gross): figured automatically

Product is Virtual: Yes, Skip Shipping
Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules
Products Quantity Box Shows: Yes, Show

    Product Qty Minimum: 1
    Product Qty Maximum: 0
    Product Qty Units: 1
    Product Qty Min/Unit Mix: no
Products Description: Your description. (Gift Certificate)

Products Quantity: I put in 10000

    Products Model: GIFT-00000
(The model MUST begin with GIFT
Note: GIFT absolutely, positively must be ALL CAPS)

Products Image: Upload an image if you want

    Upload to directory: choose directory

    Products URL: leave blank

    Products Weight: leave blank

    Save it.

(Make sure you enable the module)
Now go to Modules->Order Total and install and configure the gift certificate module.

K now to set the attributes (from Ajeh's post ) Mine differ a little but these work fine. Set them up for your amounts and needs.

Go to Catalog ... Option Name Manager ...
Create an Option Name, I use:
    Name: Amount
    Option Type: Dropdown
    Click Insert ...

Go to Catalog ... Option Value Manager ...
Create the Option Values for this Option Name, I use:
    Amount (from the dropdown)
    $5.00 (this is text)
    Sort Order: 5
    Click Insert ...

    Amount (from the dropdown)
    $10.00 (this is text)
    Sort Order: 10
    Click Insert ...

    Amount (from the dropdown)
    $25.00 (this is text)
    Sort Order: 25
    Click Insert ...

    etc. etc. etc.

Go to the Product for the Gift Certificate you want to add the Attributes ...
    I then set the:
    Product Price: 0.00
    Priced by Attribute YES

Go to the Catalog ... Attributes Controller ...
Locate the Product for this Gift Certificate ...

(Make sure when you choose each attribute, that you add in the price information to match the attribute value as shown below)
put in a sort order number if you want them to show up a certain way too.

Pick the Option Name: Amount and Option Value: $5.00
    Prefix +
    Price 5.00
    order 1
    Click Insert ...

Pick the Option Name: Amount and Option Value: $10.00
    Prefix +
    Price 10.00
    Order 2
    Click Insert ...

Pick the Option Name: Amount and Option Value: $25.00
    Prefix +
    Price 25.00
    order 3
    Click Insert ...

    etc. etc. etc.

When done, click the button to Update Sort Order and the values will now display in the default sort order that you set previously for these Option Values ...

I hope this helps. if you insure each of these steps are correct, you should not get any errors.

    David.

It worked, but since I have a 0.00 for my price, it automatically keep switching to call for price. Could there be a setting for this that I can change.

The Call For Price setting is in the configuration of the product itself.
