USPS Shipping Module Error

I have the USPS Shipping Module installed on a 1.51 site. It caculates the shipping prices correctly and everything works well Together. I set up an account as a customer to test and it worked fine up until the payment section. I selected the cheapest shipping option offered which was about $31. But when I go to the next page for check out the shipping rate has no changed to the most expensvie overnight shipping at $138. Obviously the numbers are not needed, that was just an example of the issue.

I can not figure out what is causing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a test, can you go to Modules ... Shipping ... and click on USPS shipping module and do a REMOVE ...

Next, download the current USPS January 27, 2013 shipping module (do this fresh, even if you have previously downloaded it) ...

Then, FTP the new download of USPS files to your server ...

Now, do an INSTALL and re-configure of the USPS shipping module ...

Does it work correctly for you now?

Looks like that fixed it.

Why do you think that would have happened?? I installed the latest in Jan.

The action of INSTALLING a shipping module - via the INSTALL button provided - writes data to the configuration table, which stays there - even if you load new FILES.

The REMOVE action will TRUNCATE that module's data from the configuration table, thereby cleaning out any "dross" that is either out-dated or incompatible.

Then, INSTALLING again will re-write the data to configuration table - this time the data will be compatible with the files' version.

AJEH helped you "cover all bases" by suggesting you download the NEW module first...

Mine started doing the same thing today. If you tried to select Standard Post, it bumped everybody to Express. I removed the module, uploaded new files, and re-installed the module. Everything seems fine now.

Speaking of Standard Post, I want to change that to say Parcel Post as it used to. My customers don't know Standard Post from Parcel Select and the new term confuses them. I've hunted for the phrase "Standard Post" in my files and came up empty.

I found the phrase Standard Post in the files I just uploaded. Pretty sure it wasn't there in January. :)
