how to set maximum shipping weight?

hey guys, want to ask how do i set a maximum weight limit for shipping? for example, say i use GDEX for my postage, GDEX only ship up to 30kg, more than that and you'll need to contact them directly.. so i want to make it so that if the total weight is 30kg or more, the customer have to contact me directly, and if it's lesser than 30kg, the shipping will be calculated accordingly... anyway to do this in zencart?

there is not way that i know that is in a stock ZC script. You could code your own method to do this.

However, I have a similar situation with one of the shipping companies I use. I work around it by simply doubling the cost of the shipping when an order goes over a certain weight. Doing this in increments of 10kg up to 200kg, as an order is never over 200kg.

for example

1kg -10kg = £3.99
11kg - 20kg = £7.98
....... and so one

then I just send stuff out in several consignments to the same delivery address...
