Default "Please stop hotlinking my easing script" Warning

This morning, smack in the top middle of my Zen Cart home page was this large white and black message stating "Please stop hotlinking my easing script — use a real CDN instead. Many thanks" This looks really bad to be happening on a commercial web site.

What's going on with the Sheffield Blue template from Picaflor Azul????? I'm not in a position to provide an immediate fix because I'm not quite sure what the plugin author is talking about.

It linked to https://github.com/gdsmith/jquery.easing and said, among other things
If you're coming here because of a popup on your site I'm sorry, but the increased hotlinking has caused me issues with my hosting company so I'm taking steps to try and sort it out. Please upload the script to your own server and update any urls pointing to gsgd.co.uk to use that version of the file or you could try using the above url for CDN (though this currently only has the 1.3 easing script, look at http://cdnjs.com/ for more info and maybe try and add any missing files/versions still in use).

Please also note, I have no problem with anyone's use of the plugin without my knowledge or permission, it's just the hotlinking that's causing me a headache.

    Hey there

I have got the same thing on my website. I have emailed this 'George' to ask for it to be removed whilst I figure out where this is as like you, I have no idea what this jquery does or which plugin it is.

If I manage to find the answer before you get a reply, I will of course let you know.

    Regards

    Claire

Hey again, right I've found the script it's in: /includes/templates/abbington_mega/jscript/jscript_jquery.min.php. Now, when I remove the file, the slideshow images disappear, therefore it is something to do with that script. I've uploaded the file back up again and the images reappear properly.

Sooo, need to amend something in this slideshow script, but I don't know what to do here as no expert.

Any answers would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    an easy solution could be:

    1. find the file with the link to http://gsgd.co.uk/sandbox/jquery/eas....easing.1.3.js , by using the search function of the dev tools in your admin, and remove the link.
    2. Download the script, and save it to includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_jquery.easing.1.3.js

Well I've removed that link and it seems to have worked.

    Nice one, thanks. :)

    in plain text editor

    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_jquery.min.php
replace line 2 with the following...
    <script src="http://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-easing/1.3/jquery.easing.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

errors will stop. make sure it is all one line and double spaced like the "google" line above it.

Thanks for the tip to fix this problem, my site was affected also. I am running the Sheffield Blue template.

I found the file and just removed that line, in fact there were only 2 lines in the file, the other one referenced :
    https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/lib.../jquery.min.js

Now the message has disappeared and my site still works fine so I am happy, so what did the script that was being called do in the first place?

    Anyone have any ideas?

For those who have this problem in the future:

This issue has been addressed by the template designer, this post applies to Sheffield Blue but no doubt updates have been made to their other templates.
