Adding one more "status of order" in the admin panel

Hi,
Got my first Order !!!

Now I want to notify the customer that the goods have been dispatched.
Is there anyway I can do this thru the admin panel? ( apart from writing an email? ) Like when I update the order status to delivered, a mail reaches the customer. Likewise if I update the status to dispatched, a mail should reach the customer, notifying the same.

In admin->localization->order status, you may add new statuses.

Admin > Customers > Orders

click the green 'e' button of the order you want to edit / notify customer

scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you see a dropdown next to Status

select your desired status for the order

by default 'Notify Customer' the radio button 'Email' is selected

click the update button and done: your customer will be notified about the new status of your order
