Default Session lost in Chrome and Safari

    Hi,
Session always lost in Chrome and Safari:
    1. When I switch language to French, it's only effective in current page. Everything comes back to English if I go to another page.
    2. Cannot log into back end control panel in Chrome, no matter I input the right pair or not. And there is no error msg.

I tried to write a sample php code that includes 2 php pages, the first one sets a session value, then echo it on the second page. It works properly both in Chrome and Safari. So I guess it maybe a bug or I have some setting problems.

    Need help
    Thank you!

Chrome is known to do some odd things with session cookies.
Go to Admin->Configuration->Sessions and change the dot-prefix setting. Leave all the other settings alone.

And be sure to then test it in all other browsers to be sure you haven't broken something for them.

Thanks for this solution. I was having a similar problem with Chrome. Every time I tried adding products to the shopping cart I was getting the error Whoops! Your session has expired. This was happening from the very first time I tested in Chrome. DrByte's solution worked for me.

    Thanks again
