    Default Mailing Address/Paypal Issues

Hey - running Zen Cart 1.5.1.

We're experiencing issues where customers are having wrong mailing addresses, PayPal accounts, and even wrong orders happen to us. See below for recent customer emails. Any ideas? We can't seem to find any way to replicate this. These issues happened after we changed hosting and upgraded to the latest issue of ZC. Information has been concealed from customers for their protection. Thanks!

Hi there - Just trying to complete my pre-order for the Lenny Lashley album
but am having problems when attempting to return here from Paypal. Also, it
keeps logging me in/out and, on the order screen, I could see several other
customers names & billing/shipping addresses. I took a screen cap of that
and I'd be happy to provide that to you as something appears broken. I'd
just like to order that album, too

I preordered a copy of the Lenny Lashley 12" and got my order confirmation email, number 6089. Just now, I got another email confirming delivery to someone in MA, number 6093. I wanted to make sure that my paypal account isn't getting charged for his order or anything like that. Please let me know that everything is cool with my order. Here's a copy of the email you mistakenly sent me.

Appears you have a caching issue on orders and throughout the site...

While attempting to place an order, noticed that all fields were pre
populated with someone else's name this included the
contact us form that had info pre populated as well...

Most concerning is that it appears paypal information was
cached as well. I did not execute the order (to confirm it would charge) -
but your site allowed me to proceed with to step 3.

I would like to confirm this is resolved prior to submitting my order...

    Thanks

Determine how these customers are getting to your site...

Thia appears to be a link somewhere that contains a zenid for a session that belongs to someone else

I would think that to be an issue if it hasn't happened on 30+ orders

If you can't replicate it, then it's going to be very hard to troubleshoot. If the symptoms cannot be triggered on-demand by a prescribed set of click-by-click steps, then we can't know whether the problem even still exists, let alone whether any particular "fix" has "fixed" it.
Post click-by-click steps to replicate the problem consistently, and then there'll be possibility to fix it.

Okay, then that suggests that your site's files have probably been damaged during either of those steps.
Inspect every file on your site and determine whether every difference is intended and also correct in terms of both business logic and PHP syntax. Any unauthorized difference should be corrected, usually by replacing with original code or removing whatever didn't come with ZC originally.
    Basic outline of steps: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Obscure_Issues
This process also empowers you to prepare a list of ways in which your site is different from original official Zen Cart code (and since original official ZC code doesn't exhibit the symptoms you describe, this list will contain important clues to your solution).

It's all different products. My concern is if the link that is causing the damage is the direct store link, could be a HUGE problem. Thank you!!

As I stated, If they arrive via a link that contains a zenid then the session info is carried throughout their visit
They can shop and add items - different items under that session that belongs to another
Just an opinion for what you posted

I used Kaleidoscope (using a Mac) and there were no differences found.

See post#2 for what you need to determine in order to solve this issue. The links may not even be coming from your site, or, they may have originated from your site at some stage and found their way into google, and people are clicking from there?

Checking your http referrer logs is the quickest/easiest way to determine where they are coming from.

Oh, also be careful when comparing files. It is only possible to compare files when there are two files to compare. Files that exist only in one folder can often escape undetected. You need to check for added/deleted files too. This is probably NOT the case here, but it is worth a mention just in case.

    Cheers
    Rod
