But you haven't indicated whether there are any configuration table entries using configuration_group_id 36 to match. If they don't match, or don't even exist, then they won't show, and suggests that the sql to install them wasn't run or failed with errors.
    Hello DrByte,

    Thanks for replying.

Yes there are table entries using configuration_group_id 36. Check the attached image.

    1. Did you happen to install the Admin Profiles plugin for v1.3.x? I'm NOT asking you to install it. Just asking whether it's a factor in this, because it does change things.

    2. First, are all the DB_XXXXX settings identical between the live site's /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php files? All the DB settings need to be identical. (Other parts do have legitimate differences, but DB_XXXX settings should be identical). If they don't match, then you'll get different behaviors on the front end vs backend. While your immediate symptoms aren't about differences on the storefront, it does raise the issue of looking at DB settings.

    3. Now that you've looked at the DB_XXXX settings, what is the DB_PREFIX? If the prefix isn't set to blank, then you're probably updating the wrong tables in your admin. If the prefix is blank, then the table would be "configuration" or "configuration_group". But if your DB_PREFIX is "zen_" then the tablenames would be zen_configuration and zen_configuration_group. And if you've put your plugin into the wrong tables, then of course the groups won't show in the menu.

    4. In your admin, click on any working Configuration menu group such as Images. You'll see that the URL contains &gID=4. Try changing that to &gID=36 instead. Do the expected settings show? If not, then clearly you've put the stuff into the wrong tables, as mentioned above.

    Okay great.

Now, in the future, when posting, be sure to include a list of all the plugins you've got installed. That would have saved all kinds of delays and confusion. (That's why we ask for that information in the "Posting Tips" box that appears directly above the New Post and the Reply input fields.)
