Default Explanation on how the expire date works on banner and sales?

    Hi

I dont understand this. I have created and activated a banner (wide-banner on top of page). I put the banner to be expired at 8th of july.

Today it is 7th of july. And i see the banner has been deactivated. The serverdate and database in my admin is: 07.07.2013 17:37:29 .

So why does the banner get deactivated?? It seems that that if i want it to be deactivated at 8th of july i have to put it at 9th of july..and then it will be deactivated in the middle of the day ( i dont know the exact time).

And how can i make it that at 8th of july 00:00 it gets expired?

This is also regardred to sales where the same problem occurs.

    Can someone clarify this up?

Banners expire at the end of the day on the date that they are set for ...

So if you set it for 04/12/2012 and today is 04/12/2012, then it will expire at the end of the day tonight (when the clock passes 11:59:59) ...

Sounds like a timezone difference in your MySQL server configuration.

Ya, but that doesn't mean your MySQL engine is also using that timezone.

You didn't say what Zen Cart version you're using.

And while you said that the Default timezone is Oslo, you didn't mention what the PHP date.timezone value was set to.

    i have 1.3.8

server and mySQL times matches the local time, but date.timezone is 'no value' both locally and master.

    Great.

v1.5.1 handles dates and timezones much better than the 2006 code that v1.3.8 is using.

    Thanks for answering Dr. Byte

I know i should upgrade, but it is very complex thing for me to do,. Besides, i think i will upgrade to 1.3.9, because there are many mods which are not modified to work with 1.5.1. Anyways, this doesnt mean that the 1.3.8 should not handle the issue i am talking about.
