Default Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

    Hi,

I have downloaded this add-in which installed fine. However I have tried a dummy order with a postcode that is not within the allowed list and it does not stop me with the "No shipping module is available and the messages 'Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time' and 'Local Delivery Only!'".

I only wish to deliver to a certain area so have marked all items as local delivery only and have added my allowed postcodes in this format:-BR8,CM0,CM1,CM11,CM12,CM13,CM14,CM15,CM2,CM3,CM4,CM5,CM8,CM9,CM99,DA1,DA10,DA11, DA12,DA13,DA17,DA18,DA2,DA3,DA4,DA5,DA6,DA7,DA8,DA9,IG11,ME1,ME10,ME11,ME12,ME14 ,ME16,ME19,ME2,ME20,ME3,ME4,ME5,ME6,ME7,ME8,ME9,RM1,RM10,RM11,RM12,RM13,RM14,RM1 5,RM16,RM17,RM18,RM19,RM2,RM20,RM3,RM4,RM5,RM6,RM7,RM8,RM9,SE2,SE28,SS0,SS1,SS11 ,SS12,SS13,SS14,SS15,SS16,SS17,SS2,SS22,SS3,SS4,SS5,SS6,SS7,SS8,SS9,SS99.

Please could you point me in the right direct of where I may be going wrong.

    Many thanks.

    Denise.

This is a known problem with UK postcodes. As it stands you will need to specify a full UK post code which is in one of these formats

    LN NLL
    LLN NLL
    LNN NLL
    LLNN NLL
    LLNL NLL
    LNL NLL

L for letter and N for number

Try changing your allowed postcodes accordingly.

Ah well, that will keep me out of mischief for a good while then :)

Many thanks for the swift reply. I'll get started on changing them.

    All the best.

Ok, so I tried this format - SS99 9AX,SS99 9AY,SS99 9AZ but still not joy. I get "This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order" when I add the item to my cart as I have marked it local delivery only. I only have that option installed in the shipping modules so it would still seem as though it is not picking up the allowed postcodes.

I have uploaded the files carefully and followed the instructions for installation. Obviously I am something amiss. Any assistance again would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

That means PDP works as expected.

If there is one or more products in the cart which is/are marked 'local delivery only' then obviously all other shipping methods are disabled and the customer gets the message "This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order". That's the whole point to this exercise.

If you wanted to activate the same restrictions for 'Store Pickup' then you also need to add the array of postcodes to that module. In that case you have 2 methods available: 'Local deliver' and 'Store Pickup'

    Cheers / Frank

    Ok thanks Frank,

I presumed that it would stop you ordering from a non-allowed postcode which I understand now is not the case as the order goes through when it uses an non-allowed postcode.

Back on with the thinking cap then as to how I can restrict where people order geographically.

    Many thanks for you help.

    Hi Denise,

I have just tested UK shipping postcodes on my publicly accessible demo site

    http://isonetwork.net.au/onefivetest/

On that demo site PDP is set to allow local delivery to postcodes 4551,SS99 9AX,SS99 9AZ (the latter 2 are in UK postcode format)

I have created a customer with 2 shipping addresses, one with postcode SS99 9AZ and an alternative delivery address with postcode SS99 9AY

Then I logged in as [email protected] with password localonly and put an item from category http://isonetwork.net.au/onefivetest...index&cPath=70 in the cart.

I then tried to checkout using with the alternative address postcode SS99 9AY which gives me the message "Sorry we are not shipping to your region at this time"

Note that postcode postcode SS99 9AY is not allowed.

So the module does what it should do.

Then I changed my delivery address to SS99 9AZ and I can checkout with the rate set for local delivery only.

Again, the module performs as expected.

I believe you did not install the module as per instructions. It could even be a case of file corruption during FTP to the live site, but that is unlikely.

Please check again that all files are merged/uploaded as instructed and try again.

It is worth noting that I have several UK customers using PDP performing as designed.

    Cheers / Frank

    Hi Frank,

That is exactly what I would want it to do so I'll have to revised my installation and try again.

Thanks very much for your help, very much appreciated.

    All the best.

Okay, so I reinstalled Denise's module and tested it myself.

It does not stop anyone from checking out with a non allowed post code. I haven't used this mod before and read thru everything very carefully. Reinstalled using most recent version that I downloaded. No go.

I logged into your demo site chose the first option and you have free delivery over $150 so no options show up at all. Perhaps you've changed something there?
