Help with XAMPP

After reading the threads on XAMMP can someone please help with which version works with Zen Cart V1.5.1

I have XAMPP v1.7.7 [PHP: 5.3.8] which works fine with ZC v1.5.1, and I expect any newer version of XAMPP would work as well. Some older versions may work also, I don't know which ones.

The current version is 1.83 using php 5.5 which only caused me a problem with Apsona using deprecated mysql calls, Zen Cart itself was fine (it has the same problem but was hidden/caused no issues).

Consequently I use 1.82 using php 5.4, for the main reason of improvements to phpmyadmin.

One school of thought is to use whatever version of php your hosting uses.

I prefer to use the latest version to highlight compatibility problems way in advance.
