fresh install help

Hi

Trying to install a fresh version of 1.39h Zen Cart and have been trying in vain, from fresh, no preceeding version on server, Site uploaded to live server via FTP and then database created, with cpanel
All of the permissions configured for the files, including the config.php in includes and admin/includes.

Everything works fine up until I reach the URL for the site which properly displays the
"Database setup" etc.

I have entered the database user name, database password, and database name. Seriously for hours.
I've tried different host names and the default localhost.

The response I get is the "database does not exist"

Any Ideas what is wrong?

The reason for the fresh start of 1.39h is I'm trying to make a test site for my live store on 1.39h.

That's a pretty specific message. The database you are specifying in the installation doesn't exist. The default host name in most cases is localhost. Some shared server hosts prepend your CPanel user name to the DB name, so if your Cpanel user name is foo, and you create a database named bar, Zencart would want for foo_bar as the DB name.

Check the configure.php on your current site to confirm if this might be the problem.

I'm using the configure files from the fresh install.

This is the message

Database does not exist
Access denied for user 'xxxx_xxxx'@'localhost' to database 'xxxxxx_zencart'


I've check in cpanel multiple times. The database does exist.

I remember this same issue a couple of years ago trying to install zencart the first time. Just wish I could remember what the fix was.
