migrate from prestashop to zencart

Hello,

A friend is having problems with his prestashop site. I recommended him to build a new shop with zencart.

The questions is: Will there be an easy way for him to migrate all his products data (images, descriptions etc) to zencart?

Look at this thread

Then download the prestashop site (files and DB) to your local development server. On the same server install ZC 1.5.1 (the latest anyway). Then install SymmetricDS on your local machine and try a sync. May need to be done table by table. When done do a test and see if all is working. If so then import the new ZC database to your web server.

Have not tried this but worth a thought

To be perfectly honest, migrating from one cart to another is never 'easy'.

However, there are businesses out there that have already done the hard work of figuring out exactly what is required and even developed scripts to help automate the process. Needless to say, few are willing to just give their hard earned work away, so they offer services to perform such migrations for you, so it doesn't really get much easier than that.

The question is really how much time and/or money are you willing to spend?

I haven't used them myself. I've no association with them. They simply came up at the top of the list for my Google search for this type of service.
