Default How do I bypass this checkout page?

I'm finding that too many of my customers get to this page in my checkout process and they don't know what to do. They don't have an account and don't want to create one. To make matters worse they still don't see the "continue checkout" button and don't know what to do. So, they call me all confused and frustrated. I need to bypass this page completely in my checkout so it moves right on through the "checkout without account" process. I tried putting the statement below in my .htaccess file but that didn't work. How can I streamline this process?

    Thanks
    Ian

    redirect 301 /catalog/index.php?main_page=login /catalog/index.php?main_page=no_account

I don't think you can really bypass that page, as Zencart wants people to create an account or log in before checkout. You've added one of the COWOA mods. Maybe there might be some advice in the surrort thread for that mod.

Do you want everyone to checkout without creating an account ? If not, they'll need to see that page.

The best option might be to make the COWOA option and button a lot more visible.

Making the button more visible is something I've thought of but it's just a bandaid. I really don't have an interest in people creating an account because very few of my customers are return customers. Too many of them see this "enter password" and are immediately scared away. Hell, yesterday a guy called and said he wasn't going to give our website his email log in info! We have to assume the customer is a computer illiterate 6 year old with a patience level of 0. Sadly asking people to create an account is surely costing us sales.

Depends on what you're selling and to whom, I guess. I believe one of the COWOA mods (might be FEC) has a 'force cowoa' option.

You might be able to remove all the other content on that page, either by editing the template file(s) or in the stylesheet.

I think the second URL in your .htaccess redirect needs to be absolute.

    redirect 301 /catalog/index.php?main_page=login http://www.domain.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=no_account

Sadly this did not work. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Yes, FEC allows admin to set COWOA as the only checkout option as well as simplifying checkout.

Hey Stevesh, are you for hire for this kind of stuff?

Thanks, but no. As I recall, when I installed FEC to take a look at it, it wasn't that hard to install, but you need to install some sort of css minifier first, or the mod won't work. Don't ask me why. Just follow the readme.html instructions and you'll be fine.
