I cannot get the sql installer to work on 1.51 store, reasonablerigging.com and could not find support link for reading or answers.


ALTER TABLE `reviews_description`
ADD `reviews_reply_text` TEXT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NULL;

This seemed fouled somehow, and could not paste or upload it...

Thanks for writing Mike. And thanks for tinkering, as it is an excellent mod to have available. I have uploaded all items and tried to run the installer and I got a response on the backend which seemed identical to what it is giving me now when I try to edit. I did not ever see errors as the sql file said back up and do it again.

Look in the logs folder in the root of your store for a myDEBUG-adm-(lots of numbers).log file.
That should tell you what the error was while trying to run the SQL

Mike,

The new code worked, and the modification is stellar in it's usefulness. You can edit the customer review, and if needed, post a response to the store. It allows you to accept or delete the comment. All of the tools a meglomaniac would need. Thank you for the new code for the sql database. I assume it is corrected on the download so will not repost here. I recommend this modification highly. You deserve more than 20 installations on this one.

I can't take any credit for the ability to edit, approve, or delete the review. That was already in the core ZenCart files.
As a standard practice I don't actually edit any of the reviews, just the reply.
This mod just gives everybody a chance to 'hear' both sides of a story, another way for me to get more information about products out there, and even answer questions others may have.

Ive managed to get this working with 1.39h, but Id like to be able to show the review reply on the product page where it lists all the reviews, not just on the single review page.
I dont want people to have to click 3 times to see the reply text.

Right now people can see the list of reviews on our site, but only the first bit of text, then they have to click to go to the reviews page for that product and then they have to click a single review to see our reply.

Can we have it show up on the very first page, the product page that shows all the reviews?

I don't see where this would be problem, but it will take a little digging to do. I'm currently in the middle of another project so it might be awhile before I can look at that.
Ideally it would nice to make it adjustable via the admin what pages the reply shows on...

That would be great Mike.
I think having all reviews and replies on the product page would make sense.
Most would find it annoying to have to click each review and without doing that they wont see any review replies.
