Can it be done?

Hi I have a shopping cart which is updated by a data feed with a model number...to tell the cart if the item is in stock or not.

Sooo what I wish to do instead of having 10 products all the same including the description (which is also on the Data Feed) with only a colour variant, is to have one item with the option of selecting the colour to add to cart but turning stock to unavailable (sold out) when the item is not on the data feed. (not sure if I can also import the different colour pics to display as well)..

Are there any plug ins that do this or is it all a manual process....any suggestions would be most appreciated

You can investigate the "Stock by attributes" module

Do not know if the feed will play well with it??

thanks for your quick response. I use Store Manager by M1 and my feed is a CSV with individual model numbers...
So I could do a number of product variants manually tidious I know...(to make it look like I have less duplicate products for seo) but do not know if turning products from Available to sold out by this method will work, with the plug in suggested as I dont understand exactly what it does.

I also dont know of any other way of importing and controlling the stock to "play well"....easy populate perhaps?
