Home page template is gone, but rest of pages are fine

I am trying to replace the flash banner I have had on my homepage for the last 3 years. Stumbled across this EasySlider 1.7 with easy instructions. However, when I was finished, not only did the slider not work, my homepage had gone all haywire. It no longer followed the template I have on the rest of my site.
I went back and undid all the Easy Slider steps to restore my page, but no luck.
I'm sure it has something to do with modifying my stylesheet, but I am know just enough about coding and reading css and html to get myself into trouble.
Any help is appreciated!

Ok, it also has something to do with certain pages being https secure. I just discovered that it's not just my home page, it's all my ssl pages that have eschewed their templates.

It looks to me that all your pages, secure or not, are displaying with the template_default styling, which means your custom template isn't loading. That's often caused by an error in the code before the stylesheet is loaded. I don't undersatand a lot of the meta stuff you've added, so I can't advise there. Try examining your site at http://validator.w3.org/ and see if they have a problem with something you've done.

I tried the validator and it made my brain explode. I'm going to have the guy who created the site take a look at it and see what he can do.
Pages, such as our Contact Us or product pages, for example, are displaying normally.

Not here they're not. All your pages look the same styling-wise. Try a hard refresh on your browser.

Thanks. Now, I am officially freaking out.
I think I'm going to go back and restore from my last downloaded backup (which was months ago).
