    Default Customers are not getting download link

    I have tried to find this answer, but have not been able to.

    I have several downloadable products - all pdf. But when I customer orders these products, they are not getting the link to download their product. I have tried to changed several setting, but nothing is working. Here is how it is set up right now:
    • All the downloadable pdf's are in the "/download" folder
    • When people place an order, it is defaulted to "Processing."
    • In the Attribute Settings, I have Enable Downloads set to true, and Download by Streaming set to true

    Attribute Setting for download:
    Product options: Download
    Option Name: PDF file
    I have gone into the Attributes Controller and added download files to to each download product making sure I have the file name added in the textbox.


    This is what happened when I tested purchasing a downloadable product:

    • I ordered one of the downloadable products. I received an email saying my order is complete with a link to my account
    • I go to my account, but there is not a link to download the product I purchased
    • I go to the admin page and look at the status which is "Processing" and change the status of my order to "Shipped"
    • I receive an email saying my downloadable product has been shipped and there is a link to My Account to view order.
    • I go to My Account, I see the order, but there is not a link to download the product

    What are your settings in the Configuration ... Attributes Settings ...

    If you go to Localization ... Orders Status ... what do you see on the ID values of your statuses?

    On the Orders with Download Products, if you do an Edit Order ... do you see the Downloads listed on the bottom of the screen? What are their Days and Counts?

    Attribute Setting: Enable downloads, true; Download by redirect, true; Download by streaming, false
    Orders Status: Pending is set to default
    When I go to edit the order, I do not see the download listed and I don't see any days or times of download. Where the product is listed, I do see that I purchased the download.

    Have you an URL to the Product that you are trying to Order where this is happening?

    I am assuming on that in your Zen Cart Admin on the Attribute for the Download on this Product that you see the green dot next to the filename ... correct?

    It has been quite a while since I've gone through a similar drill

    Check in Admin
    Configuration => Attribute Settings => Downloads Controller Order Status Value >= lower value

    IIRC
    Default = 2 which is processing
    Change to 1 to allow downloads if order status = pending (1)

    I figured it out - really stupid on my part, I should have noticed it before. But I didn't have the Attributes Control set correctly. I have attached the Option Name and Value to the product. But when I had gone back to the Option Manager to add the downloadable file name, I had clicked on the product and instead of editing the Option Value, I had added the downloadable file name to product in general - which created a Text option not connected to anything.
