Default Auto Generated Username/Password after checkout - issue

Hi - customer has had an email sent after a purchase with auto-generated username and password for future logins that apparently does not work.

Firstly I do not understand how this ' feature' works, where can I find details on how it works ? - I can only assume the customer has used PP express. (I do not have any checkout plugins installed)

I need to get back to the customer with an explanation as to why her username/password will not work - do I simply ask the customer to register manually? if so will that create any issues with duplicate information in the database?

    any and all assistance appreciated.

    cheers, Mike

Pretty sure that the cust has used PPEC which automatically creates an account and generates a password for the user (the email address is the user name). This has been the case for many previous version of ZC where PPEC is enabled.

Can the customer use the 'Password Forgotten' feature - using the email address as the user name?

    Cheers from Up the Road
