Shipping cost not added to Shopping Cart total

I have searched the forum for a while and still can’t find why the shipping cost isn’t adding to the total amount. This is a simple shopping cart and I have turned off most features –maybe I turned something off in error. I have double checked and double checked, and even reinstalled the table rate shipping module and PayPal is working. Please help!

The problem is probably related to the fact that you have removed the "checkout" button from the shopping cart page. Without the checkout page, customers can not login in and complete the checkout procedure which includes selecting shipping.

Patricia, V152 is a test stage only, Hope you just have a type error on the version of Zen Cart you are using ...

Thanks for your reply but that isn't the problem. I put the checkout button back and still the shipping isn't working correctly.

I only want to have one button which is Paypal so I will be removing the other one once the shipping problem is solved.

If your visitor clicks on the Paypal button without logging in to your store, Zencart (and Paypal) has no way of knowing what the shipping charges will be, since no address is entered. Once your customer logs into Paypal or provides address information, the shipping charges should appear when he returns to your site.

I signed up, placed an order...
- step 2 - hit the check/money order - no problems
- step 2 - hit paypal - no problems


I even went back to the beginning (shopping cart page) and had no problems with the shipping value being added.

However...
Don't sign up, don't log in, add a product to the cart, click the very first PayPal button (shopping cart page) and the shipping value never gets selected... or added to the variables to pass along to PayPal.

If you want to avoid having customers create an account before checkout then you should install the fast and easy checkout module.
