red flag Upgraded new site to 1.5.1 and now can't view admin

Hi to the clever people here,

I just upgraded my site using the list of deleted, new and changed files in the upgrade to 1.5.1
I also renamed my Admin file. (It was zc_admin, now just admin)
Now when I try to go into the admin (backend) of my new site and put in domain name/ the new store name/renamed admin/, all I get is a blank screen.

    What have I done wrong?

I know when I first did this in 1.3.9 (different store now gone) I had to rename a few of other areas as well. Do I have to do that with this upgrade and change too?

If so, which bits do I need to change?

Search the forum about the "white screen"... Most often, it's a problem with one of the php files, often having an extra space or not having a close. There are a few pages on the subject, read up on them, then you have to try and figure which one it is, which most often is an add-on or mod....

    Thanks chowardart,

I'll have a look for 'white screen'.
Appreciate the help. Thanks for the reply.

You'll most likely have an error log being generated in your log folder, accessible via cpanel or ftp.
Post the content of the log generated after you attempt to access your admin. Don't forget to edit out any reference to the name of your admin folder.

    Thanks picandnix,

I'll have a look around to see if I can do it. At the moment, I wouldn't have a clue.

    Thanks for the reply.

Umm, just went into Cpanel and looked in the error log. There's nothing there.

    Is that bad?

Also, should have mentioned that I can't even get the zencart login to show up. You know where you have to put in the name and the password underneath.

Okay, had enough of all these problems. I'll try to upload everything the way everyone else seems to.
I've gotten rid, uninstalled, sent to the website heaven, of the fantastico installed cart.
I'll do it the hard way.

Thanks for everyone's help. I dare say I'll be back.

Sounds like I may be too late, but...
Your 'log' folder is not the cpanel error folder, it is your Zen Cart error folder, it lives in public_html/logs (in the same list/location as youradmin, images, includes and so on). It can be viewed via cpanel or ftp.

    That's okay picandnix,

Yeah, a little late, but I did look in that one too and there was nothing there either, or I just couldn't see it.
I'll try again. If anything, it's taught me not to take the easy way out. All I've lost is a few hours of nervousness and one night of uncomfortable sleep.
