Twitch Restrict Categories by Customer or Group

I am running Zen Cart 1.51.

I am confused with the installation. The text twitch_restrict_cat_by_cust_or_group_16a_for_154.txt implies that the files in the download require code changes. After merging the downloaded files do I need to make all the code changes?

All Twitch modules come with full install/merge instructions for you to manually place the code #1
AND
the original files including core/template files with the Twitch code already installed/merged #2.

#1 - This allows you to work hands on with your cart - especially useful if there are many other modules installed.


#2 - For a brand new vanilla install of Zen Cart you will need to install any instances of the SQL Updates you find in the instructions and then you could upload the files to overwrite the originals. This option requires that you use the same version of the install files as your new zen cart and if anything goes wrong assumes you can read and follow option #1 if you needed to troubleshoot or just start over because you're working with a vanilla install of Zen.

Already it looks as though you're wanting to install Twitch Restrict for 1.54 into Zen 1.51. Your only option is #1 as you will encounter problems mashing/overwriting the new module files with your older cart.

Finally, if I were installing the Twitch Module I would upgrade Zen first, then add in all the new modules - then we're all on the same page and 'new' without the need to troubleshoot mismatched old/new code.

Yes, once you have Twitch Restrict for 1.51 installed in Zen 1.51 read through the forum for the minor updates(if any) that apply to your version.

I have installed Twitch for 1.51. I have six top level categories. The catgeories displays the top level categories in six rows. Is this a reported problem or does anyone have any idea what is causing the replication?

Looks like you have the category tabs code stuck in a loop. Check your install and the location of code insertion points related to the encapsulating brackets.

I did not insert the code myshelf. I merged the twitch files code with the existing 1.51 code. Do you have any idea which code that I need to look at?
