External links in main page text

I am trying to add an external link to the text of my main page. Unfortunately, somewhere in Zen Cart it has decided to parse this link into an internal link, as though it is assuming I was too stupid to write a link properly.

It is taking http://[other site].net/
And turning it into:http://[my site].com/products/[actual link]

How do I make it stop doing that? I'm completely comfortable editing php files if that's what it takes to make it function correctly.

can you send an example of the page that's doing this? sounds like an ez-page/define page

It's definitely an ez-page/define page: define_main_page.php

It takes any href attribute and slaps "http://[my site].com/products/" onto the front of it. It was doing it with external images too, until I went through the php code and removed 20 odd instances where it was doing it. But for the life of me I can't find where in the code it's modifying the text links.

Are you using a html or plain text eidtor on the file?

Plain text editor. I've doubled checked to make sure, and the main-page.php file is clean - no extra code or markups. The link in the file is exactly what I want it to be. Somewhere in the Zen Cart code the link is being changed, and the extra bit slapped onto the front of it.

I can't duplicate that problem with a clean installation of Zencart. Are you using some kind of URL-rewriting mod ?

Nope, the only mod I have is for payment. This is making no sense at all to me. I just want a link to another site on the main page; it seems so simple, and yet. >_>

What happens if you edit tpl_main_page.php manually by downloading it, adding your href, and uploading it back to the server?

If it's still messed up, we'll need a link to the site.
