Default PayPal API Changes 26 March 2014 - doesn't affect Zen Cart

Received an email from PayPal today about IP address changes for their API servers.

Just wanted to check that no action is needed with regards to the built in PayPal modules in ZenCart.

Full info can be found here: https://ppmts.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1072

I ..think.. I'm right in saying that Zen Cart uses DNS results to obtain the IP address from PayPal, so any such IP change won't be a problem.

Zen Cart has always used proper DNS names to connect with PayPal.
Thus this change does not impact Zen Cart.

That said, if YOU (or your hosting company) have specifically established firewall rules to specifically allow certain PayPal traffic to specific PayPal IP addresses, you'll need to add the new IP addresses to those rules. It is rare that anyone needs to set firewall rules for PayPal, but some hosting configurations are extremely limiting and would need to make this change. Chances are that if you don't know what a firewall rule is then this doesn't affect you either.
