We are moving our 1.3.9a installation AWAY from GoDaddy following a nearly week-long nightmare. Do folks have any hosting recommendations?

I'm loving Tornado Host out of Florida.
Price competitive & faster than a lot of shared hosting solutions.
Running zc 1.5.1 on them now.
Excellent customer support.
I cannot recommend Network Solutions (Now Web.com)

Good move!...AWAY from GoDaddy...
If you are in the US or Australia take a look at Crucial Paradigm (Google is your friend). They have separate websites (US and AUS) with servers in Sydney and Dallas.
I have been with them for years now, they provide prompt and efficient support, had not a single outage.
