GV covers full order amount, but sales tax doesn't get paid

Hi,

In my test scenario, customer's total (product + shipping + sales tax) is $291.53. Their GV balance is more than that, so they apply $291.53 at checkout. Once they confirm the order, they land on the success page w/o being redirected to paypal.com for payment since their balance due after the GV was $0. Order is complete and confirmation emails are sent, but instead of $291.53, only $273.10 was applied (product + shipping), while the sales tax ($18.43) remained unpaid.

Here's what's displayed on the checkout_confirmation page online:
Subtotal: $233.60
Shipping: $39.50
Tax: $18.43
Gift Certificates: -$291.53
Total: $0.00

And here's what it looks like in the confirmation email:
Subtotal: $233.60
Shipping: $39.50
Gift Certificates: -$273.10
Tax: $18.43
Total: $18.43

(Not sure if this could be a clue, but sales tax and GV lines are swapped between website and email...)

I found an old post (from 2008) with a solution to this problem that apparently worked in ZC 1.3.8... I matched the Modules -> Order Total -> ot_gv settings quoted there (as well as tested all kinds of other combinations), but nothing seems to be fixing this problem for me in ZC 1.5.1. Those setting were:

Include shipping: true
Include tax: true
Recalculate tax: none
Tax class: none
credit including tax: false

It might matter that I use TaxCloud for sales tax calculations, but TaxCloud doesn't appear to have an official support thread here...

Any insight/fix will be greatly appreciated.

What are the Sort Orders that you are using on all of the Order Totals in Modules ... Order Total ...
