Default MUST READ - All Mail from yahoo.com to yahoo.com bounced unless this setting is set.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this is good information that everyone should know.

Yahoo recently changed their email policy to try and limit spam. This change has a side effect of bouncing all emails from yahoo.com addresses if the from field is yahoo.com and it is not sent through yahoo servers. As a result all email from the contact form and other forms on the website will bounce unless a setting is set in Zen Cart.

The setting is found in Configuration -> Email Options
Emails must send from known domain? should be set to YES. In addition please make sure the Email Address (sent FROM) is valid.

I STRONGLY encourage EVERYONE to make sure this setting is set now if you value your email being sent properly.

This should affect all versions of Zen Cart.

EDIT: For search reasons I'd like to point out that this was a result of a DMARC security policy change.

Why would a store owner want the emails to be sent with a from
address with anything but thier own domain name anyway?

Seriously, would you want to purchase from a store that is using john @ yahoo. com for their contact details?

    Cheers,

Using 3rd-party domains as your basis for email is (as Rod points out) perhaps the most amateurish approach to customer communication. It's p1ss easy to set up domain-specific email boxes - and it says volumes (better image) to customers.
