Default Trying to keep line breaks in product description

    Morning all,

im having an issue with my product description layouts,

my specifications for the goods im selling can be quite detailed, so I need line breaks to help make it more appealing on the eye, in the admin catalogue the breaks are as they should be, but on the live site all the lines are one after the other with no spaces, ie

    should be:

    test

    test

    test,

    appears as:

    test
    test
    test

other posts suggest commenting out the zen_clean_html code in the includes/modules /product_listing.php folder but ive tried this /*zen_clean_html*/ and it doesn't make any difference.

Appreciate any help you can offer

    Regards

    Damien

Embed HTML (ie: <br> tags or <p>...</p> tags etc) in your description OR use the HTML Editor CKEditor from the Plugins area at the top of this page. The latter will be much easier if you have more than a small handful of products.

thanks both, Badarac ill read your PM now as well

just while I get my head around what you've provided and check out the CKeditor, heres a few additional bits of info that may help

my editor box looks like this -

    Name: Capture.JPG
Views: 126
Size: 20.8 KB

In the editor as im creating the item it looks like this -

    this is a test

    test

    test

    test

when I switch to html source it looks like this -

    this is a test<br /><br /><u><b>test</b></u><br /><br /><i>test</i><br /><br />test<br />

    the preview then looks fine

but the page on the site as discussed removes the spaces between the words, but leaves in the italics, underline and bold.

As I copy and paste in a lot of text (which I have tried running through a plain text editor before pasting in and no difference) do you still believe the CKeditor is the right way to go???

    much appreciated

    Damien

It may help to provide a link to your site. Does this issue appear in the default template? Perhaps something in the css is disabling the extra space. I'll say up front, I am not able at the moment to evaluate said causes, but as one can see in the posting guidelines it can only help. :)
