Default PHP Out of memory errors

    1.3.9h installation

Everything's been working fine until today when all of a sudden the cart starts acting funny - -mostly kicking customers back to their login pages when they try to check out. When I check the DEBUG files, I see a bunch of "out of memory" error files on a variety of pages -- no single page/file seems to be the culprit.

Last time this kind of thing happened, a customer tried to order 10,000 pieces of a single item and that particular customer was affected, but no others.

How to I begin troubleshooting/tracking this down?

    Thanks,

    John

    Anything odd about this product?

Does it have a zillion attributes?

I cannot think of any reason a quantity of 10000 on a single product would produce that error ...

Are the debug logs on memory issues coincidental perhaps?

What do you see in, for example, the 5 most recent debug logs?

Hmm, did your host suddenly change your site to use PHP 5.4, resulting in "memory exhausted" errors as described in this (http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...ytes-exhausted) thread?

Hi Ajeh -- all the debug files are memory errors for various files. Some don't mention any files at all:

[07-Jul-2014 12:13:47 America/Los_Angeles] PHP Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 3932160) (tried to allocate 131072 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

    Others mention specific files:
[07-Jul-2014 12:36:39 America/Los_Angeles] PHP Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 1572864) (tried to allocate 19456 bytes) in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/92537/domains/quinceandco.com/html/store/includes/classes/navigation_history.php on line 53

There does not seem to be a common file involved.

I did notice that we're getting the warning to clean/reset the admin log -- would that cause memory issues?

Some of the products have a lot of attributes - -maybe 40 -- but none have more than that. And nothing has changed recently in terms of adding more attributes.

I took a closer look at the DEBUG files. Since last August, there have been approximately 320 of them posted. ALL of them are memory errors. Anywhere from 10 to more than 40 a month. Again, there is a wide variety of files named in these (and some don't name any files at all).

I'm stumped - could the cart and its activity simply outgrown what our host is offering for memory (25165824 bytes)?

And me again. My host, MediaTemple, tells me the server (shared hosting) has 99MB of RAM. Doesn't seem like much to me. How about you? Could this simply be inadequate resources, or might there be a coding issue in my much-modified installation?

    Admin->Tools->Server Info

What's it say for PHP memory limit? Actually, what are *all* the details there, above your Zen Cart Version history?
