Template Installation not working properly...

I am new to ZenCart, but a previous user of oscommerce. I have installed the latest v1.5.3 version of zencart and have installed 2 or 3 different templates, but having trouble getting this to display in the admin / tools/ template section dropdown. I have followed the instructions regarding the template installation.
Can someone help?

Your best bet is to post your question in the support thread for the template(s) you're attempting to install. Most of the templates available in the Zen Cart Plugins include a link to their support thread.

Probably not. The template selection dropdown in Admin - Tools - Template Selection is populated from information in template_info.php files, which should be in the templates' root directories. Do you have those? For example: includes/templates/YOUR_NEW_TEMPLATE/template_info.php.

General question to those offering help, guessing that installation being on a local computer was performed by a fresh install using the zc_install process, is there possibly a file "mapping" issue in the configure.php files where something wasn't entered properly on install?

I will go back and double check the installation and configs... Seemed like a straightforward process to me until it didn't work :-) Thanks guys

Still no luck. I have tried installing several different templates and none will show up in the dropdown. Any other suggestions. Thanks

If your /admin/includes/configure.php file has been tampered with, then your DIR_FS_CATALOG path is probably incorrectly set, and doesn't actually point to the place where your store is, and therefore can't find your /includes/templates folder.
