Text attributes deleting and unfillable when there's an error

My products are set up with a lot of text attributes, frequently i would get orders with all info missing but customers claiming they entered everything, i narrowed it down to this issue:

When there's a must choose option like a radio or drop down which is not selected, hitting add to cart will return to product page with a warning on option for... you must choose etc.. that's when is ee all fields blanked out (without the white boxes to type in) and adding to cart will result in all previously entered info missing, is anyone aware of what can cause this issue?

Have you tried changing to the default (classic) template to see if it's your custom template's processing that is interfering?

Does it do the same thing when you switch temporarily to the Classic template ?

lat9 beat me to it. If that doesn't work, go to the Advanced Search page in the forum and search for "text attribute" error for some similar threads.

I did not was scared if temporarily switching could break anything, could it?

OK, so your issue was yet-another symptom of "hidden" configuration-group 0 being wiped out by improperly-coded SQL patches. Thanks for the update!

Not sure what ""hidden" configuration-group 0" is but it sounds like something lousy.....

The configuration table in the database is organized by configuration_group_id values (you can see the structure if you examine your database using your cPanel's phpMyAdmin tool). The configuration_group_id of 0 is used to hold some "hidden" values (like the TEXT attribute prefix). Some misbehaved plugins will, as part of their installation SQL script, delete all configuration table elements with a configuration_group_id of 0 (not on purpose, just due to misprogramming).
