Default "Go To Checkout" & "Check out with Paypal"

First, I am not a programmer, I am the shop owner. I am just trying to get info for my programmer to help him out as best I can.

Now that's out of the way. When you get to "The Shopping Cart" page after adding an item to your cart on my website (www.extensive-enterprises.net) it shows you 2 options for checkout

    1. "Go To Checkout"
    2. "Check Out With PayPal"

What has to be done so the "Check Out with Paypal" button no longer shows up AND the "Go To Checkout" button now does what the "Check Out With Paypal" button used to do.

    Thanks for all your help!

You can turn the Paypal button off on the shopping cart page in the Paypal configuration in Admin - Modules - Payment. I'm not sure I understand the second part of the question.

My understanding is that instead of being presented with the screen that includes pay with PayPal, login, or create an account, they want the action to just go to PayPal. Almost as if in the shopping cart the Pay with PayPal button were replaced with the "Go to Checkout" button and the existing "Go to Checkout" button were hidden/removed.

A variant on COWOA where in this case the account could be created (or not) without the customer being overwhelmed with choices.

PayPal has VERY SPECIFIC requirements for using PayPal Express.. (which is what the second button is) The BIG ONE is this: you COONOT use any image for the PayPal Express function other than the image's APPROVED by PayPal or you could risk account suspension.

If you use PayPal Express Checkout, when your customers check out, they will be directed to a page that requires them to log into their PayPal account or create a new one. PayPal will collect billing and shipping information from them and when the customer is returned to your site after completing the payment. In the background Zen Cart WILL create a customer account for them. You can configure the settings in Zen Cart to further speed up the process (default shipping options etc). So YES it's SIMILAR to the "No Account" feature of COWOA, except as I recall the account created isn't a COWOA type of account but a regular Zen Cart customer account (login creds are forwarded to the customer). So if I'm not mistaken you cannot use the same e-mail address you used for previous PayPal express sales. (need someone to confirm this)

The Zen Cart "Checkout" button, when your customers check out, they will step through the check out steps and will provide billing and shipping info and eventually be directed to a page that allows them to log into their PayPal account or pay by credit card without having to sign up for a PayPal account.

Now if what you are REALLY after is a guest account type of check out, I suggest you look at COWOA AND leave PayPal Express as an option as well..

Yes this is exactly what i'm talking about. After reading posts made after this one it seems that you can't use the stock ZenCart image with PayPal. I will look into COWOA and see what that's all about, Thanks!

That's correct.. You can't use stock Zen Cart buttons to replace the "Pay with PayPal" button.. It's a violation of PayPal's TOS.. If guest checkout is what you REALLY want, COWOA is the module you are after..
