Duplicate Item Name / Product name repeat Order Confirmation Email

When customer placed order and get order confirmation email product name appear more than once in email. Order total is correct in email, its only product name repeats.
Invoice on site under my account and order page in admin appears ok. Only issue with email.

I have checked email template and it is does not have duplicate entry.


For Example customer ordered this:

2 x D4 $59.78
2 x Alpha $57.50
2 x CK $79.90

but in email it appears like this:

Does anyone knows what is the issue and fix for this? I have searched forum but could not find any.

What other plugins have been attempted to be installed that might affect the includes/classes/order.php or includes/modules/orders.php files? (This may include programs that are in the includes/classes/observers directory.)

Also, what aspect is beinng considered as doubled? Adding the numbers up that were provided gave a 4.4 to 1 ratio not a factor of 2.

There is not exact ratio sometime it only show item name twice and sometime more as posted above.

I have installed following order total modules:


Discount For Quantity ot_buy1get1free 549 Info
Gift Wrap ot_giftwrap_checkout 220 Info
Shipping Insurance ot_insurance 299 Info
Newsletter Discount ot_newsletter_discount 287 Info
Quantity Discount ot_quantity_discount 295 Info
Reward Points ot_reward_points 900 Info
Reward Points Tiered Discount ot_reward_points_discount Info
Reward Points earned ot_reward_points_display 1000 Info


It was working ok on 1.5 I just upgraded to 1.5.3 and installed quantity discount module and gift wrap. First no item name was appearing in email so I looked into order.php and but now name repeats sometime, not all the time.

In above example customer used followings with order:


Discount Coupon: xxx : -$5.00
Newsletter Discount: -$1.97
Group Discount: -$19.02
Quantity Discount: -$3.00
Shipping Insurance: $3.94



Also is there anyway to set max 1 discount per order instead of multiple as in this order?

Well, without personally looking at what each plugin/addon you have on your site does, one way to identify the issue is on your test version of your site, to disable the plugins in a manner to process a transaction and see if the email result is affected by the plugins/addons. Layout a plan. My first thought is to disable all of them, see if any are causing the issue. Then to either enable one at a time or enable all and disable each one and all one at a time and see the results. It may be a combination of them or just one. Either way want to identify the interference. Another is to look for those things that affect the text of the email.

As for application/requirement of only using one discount at a time, there are a number of ways to approach and you would want to identify that here to obtain the assistance desired. Ie. Can guest only enter information to try to get one discount; if they enter information for multiple discounts, which one(s) will apply? Max discount, a particular one, etc...; will they be able to see the result of the discount and change which discount they wish to try to apply?; etc...
