    Default Programmable Actions Post-Sale

I am looking for an eCommerce solution. I have two simple needs:
    1) I have to be able to sell digital downloadable products. So far, I only have one product, but I will have a second in a year or so.
    2) I need to be able to fire off a JSON request when a purchase is complete (finalized, not just submitted), OR I need to be able to distribute a CD code--this action is for activating the purchased software. I also have to gather an account name from the user for this verification process.

I think it's very simple, but I have not found a solution to this problem, and many vendors/software does not accurately announce the availability of features such as these.

Can Zen Cart do this? Or can anything else?

While that's not a built-in feature, it's very possible to write a PHP function to take care of it, and simply fire that function when the appropriate event occurs.

There are some plugins (and some less-formal code-posted-in-discussions) which offer software license keys or prepaid-phone-card-codes upon completion of payment ... which might serve as appropriate inspiration to build the custom code needed to meet your requirements.
