Default Blank page once installation has been completed

    Hi all,

Very new to this, so any information I have left out which you might need, let me know. Cheers.

I've been trying to install zencart on my new site, and can get all the way through to actually being able to change background info in the admin area. However, when I go to the actual site, there is just a blank page.

In the FTP software, the bugging log says:
[11-Jan-2015 17:17:36 Europe/London] PHP Warning: require(includes/languages//index.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/thebriti/public_html/index.php on line 72
    [11-Jan-2015 17:17:36 Europe/London] PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages//index.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php54/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php54/usr/share/php') in /home/thebriti/public_html/index.php on line 72

I've look for others who have had this problem, and a since uninstall/reinstall appears to work. I've tried this, but no such luck.

The area it appears to be in within the configure.php files, but as far as I see, nothing wrong with them. To be honest, I don't really know what I'm looking for in there, so that's probably where the problem is.

Any help will be very much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance

Version of ZC installed, how it was installed, etc. As asked for in the posting tips.

From the paths provided it looks like there might be something wrong in the includes/configure.php file having a possible extra slash. But no way of telling without more information as requested above.

Zercart version 1.5.4 and installed by transferring across on Filezilla and using zc_install.

The path for 'includes/languages//index.php' is auto-generated by combining a number of settings:
    a) the path to the /includes/languages folder
    b) the currently-selected language
    c) the page whose language text content is to be read

And since yours is missing the middle one, that suggests that your site somehow isn't picking up a valid language.
Out-of-the-box Zen Cart comes with files for "english" and has some PHP code to automatically choose "english" if nothing is chosen by the visiting user.

So, that tells me either you've gone into the Admin and deleted the English language content, or your FTP program hasn't uploaded all your files reliably, especially everything in the /includes/init_includes/ and /includes/languages folders. And if indeed any one or more of those is missing or damaged, then chances are you've also got FTP upload failures in lots of other folders too, and shouldn't trust your FTP program.

Not currently able to try this, so will do asap.

I haven't personally changed anything, so it would imply that the files haven't been uploaded properly.
I'll try and re-upload those individually to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, would you suggest using a different ftp client?

What ftp client do you use? There are several that are known to be good almost all the time, and there are those that are suggested to stay away from.
