    Default Re: Mail not sending

Thanks for the in depth information, yes I agree suddenly code doesn't change by itself so I wonder when something does stop its someone got in & mucked it up.
By changing the host server name from what it always has been seems to have ensured mail is back on again, just as my host states tho, smtp & port 25, they didn't mention any other number of smtpauth.

In the new email (joined as a new customer) to provoke one, the only information worth showing is these two lines.

X-Mailer: PHPMailer [version 1.73] via Zen Cart
0.0 URIBL_BLOCKED ADMINISTRATOR NOTICE: The query to URIBL was blocked.

Various line errors seen in logs refer to blank entries on lines of various php files, yet when downloading those and winmerge against the originals they are identical.
Still I really do have to make the jump to the latest version, but its quite a daunting task to get it right.
Done it now a few times but a fresh install & duplicating my database means I will have to customise the new version before I can make that live.
Still its well worth the effort, similar stores to mine they are paying £24.95 a month for a third party hosted online store!
For the amount I make on mine that would never pay me to run a monthly costed cart.
Original store was 1.39:- TransportPostcards.co.uk/shop (redirecting out)
Working on a fresh new store... 1.56a TransportPostcards.co.uk/store

Would also recommend "send from known domain = true".

One could also temporarily enable email logging to verify emails are sent by Zen Cart. Keep in mind the email server (not Zen Cart) is ultimately responsible for dispatching and delivering emails. Very similiar to sending a postal letter (Zen Cart = You; Email Server = Post Office).

SMTPAUTH = Use SMTP with Zen Cart configured server and port. Send Zen Cart configured username and password to authenticate. Will report if unable to contact email server and if email server reports an error while receiving the email request.
As an addition to my earlier reply, yes to "send from known domain = true".
I shall have a look where that logging isbut have been checking the domain cpanel logs.
I have all those lines completed so maybe all I ought to do is use the radio button for smtpauth instead of smtp if the same details are used. My host did not refer to anything different than port 25 for example.

Emails are carrying again today from new orders so the email issue is sorted.
maybe on the latest version I will not get so many timewasting spam emailers who seem to be able to use the contact us form for gibberish or annoyingly promotion of google ranking or CEO. An efficient capitcha would be good.
I look forward to a printed book of the manual, something I can sit on my lap rather than working two PC/screens side by side dealing with an upgrade.

    Thanks again.

That's the problem. Your server has been blocked by the that particular spam-detector service your emails are being filtered through. Your hosting company will need to sort it out.
