help question Multiple images for product

    Hello :)

i'm sorry to post a question that have been asked a thousand times, but i used the search and did read a lot here in the forum and the faq but i haven't found one single explanation where to put more images in. And i don't mean a folder, i mean the page itself:
    Name: images.jpg
Views: 1913
Size: 30.2 KB
On this page i can't find any possibility, or do i oversee something?

Somewhere i'd read, that image handler is by default in the newest version, but i don't find it.
Additional images in a row stands on 3
    I'm using zen 1.5.4

    https://www.miki-and-company.com

Just right now i'm feeling pretty stupid, that i can't see where to put multiple pictures in

Thanks for any help in advance
    Freya

If you mean additional images (in addition to the product image), that's done using the proper image naming convention.

Thanks for your answer Stevesh :)
I don't know how many times i've read that page you've linked to, but still, i just don't get it
Now you do not need to use subdirectories for loading your images.

All images can be loaded to:

    /images
    /images/large
    /images/medium
I loaded the other pictures into the image folder. Ok, i could create special folder for clothes (i.e.) but i doubt that this would solve my problem, cause i still don't understand how i shall get the pictures into the product page.

Maybe i'm really that stupid, but i can name the images by numbers, letters, what so ever, i don't know how to get them into the page.
There is the possibility to upload one picture, if i upload the next, the first isn't shown anymore

You don't. You name them according to the tutorial and place them in the proper folder. Zencart will see the image name and add them to the proper page. If the product image name is sundownpromo-800x800.jpg, naming the additional image sundownpromo-800x800_1.jpg will display it on the page. Also watch out for this:

Using the product_info page like shown above, always add/assign the base image last.

So if loading a base image and two additional images:
    1. They should all go into the same folder.
    2. Load the extra images first: image_001, and image_002
    3. They should all have the same extension (jpg for example)
    4. Load the base image: image

If the files have already been ftped to the directory, then need only type in the path for the base image and the additional images will be recognized.

Assuming your template supports additional images and all of the admin configurations are set to display additional images, then they will show.

If they still do not show after the above, then try the default zc template to see if they appear at that point. If they don't, then template needs to be adjusted to display additional images.

The other directories (large/medium) are only needed if a different large/medium image is to be used when compared to files with the same name under the "base" directory.

Thank you both very much :)

Then i have to try the default template, cause it's not working for me this way
I named the pictures Blackbird_01.jpg and so on til _06.jpg, all the same name Blackbird, all in the same folder, added the last one first (and this is shown now) and nothing more happened.

    Blackbird_01.jpg
    Blackbird_02.jpg
    Blackbird_03.jpg
    Blackbird_04.jpg
    Blackbird_05.jpg
    Blackbird_06.jpg

are ALL separate images and have NOTHING in common (as far as zen-cart is concerned

    Name them this way

Blackbird.jpg <--- This is the MAIN image
Blackbird_01.jpg <--- This is an additional image to the main image
    Blackbird_02.jpg <--- So is this
    Blackbird_03.jpg <--- So is this
    Blackbird_04.jpg <--- So is this
    Blackbird_05.jpg <--- So is this

The main image with out the extension is Blackbird
Adding the _01 makes it an additional image

Oh my, thank you so much Gilby

I think i was sitting ways too long over this problem, that i missed the forest for the trees
I really was close to give up and search for another store.

Now all pictures are in and i feel such a relief.
I made such a small mistake and it caused me so many problems.

And thanks to all that had enough patience to deal with me and my problem.

Glad it worked for you. Come back to the forum to ask more questions when you have other issues. Of course try to search for them first, then start a new thread as necessary.

As a sidenote/reminder: because the base image is blackbird.jpg and imagename that begins with blackbird will be shown with that product in addition to where it might be otherwise assigned. Ie. If you add a second product that is about pies and the image is called blackbirdpies.jpg and stored in the same directory as they above images, then it and all additional product of it will show with the blackbird product, but not the other way around.

    Welcome to ZenCart, happy Zenning!
