    Default Compounding state tax

I have looked around and all the other posts I have found show closed. I am using the latest version of ZC and have followed (at least I believe) every step in setting up sales tax. I am trying to set up sales tax for just two states, PA (6%)and CA (7.5%). I have priorities set at zero on both. I have tried to set at one on both and zero and one but still getting the same thing. If I am a California shopper the tax is correct but the Pennsylvania shopper has the taxes compounded Pa tax + Ca tax at 13.5%. Is this an issue in ZC or am I missing something

Closed threads are generally a good thing. It means that the issue(s) being discussed have been resolved.

I realise I'm about to ask a really dumb question, but to the best of your knowledge, exactly what is 'the latest version'?

I've just had a quick search of the forums, and the 1st thread I found was
    http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...le-tax-problem

It appears to describe your problem exactly, and although this report (it is a bug) pertains to ZenCart V1.5.0 I couldn't help noticing that the fix required changes to the includes/classes/order.php file, and although you are apparently using a newer version of ZenCart it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that if you'd upgraded from V1.5.0 perhaps this file was somehow missed during the upgrade. It is also possible that you have installed one of the several addons that have modified this file in some way and that these addons are still based on the V1.5.0 code.

If you compare your copy of the
includes/classes/order.php file with the changes shown here:
    https://github.com/zencart/zencart/commit/088ddb491bf50cdd453246461878e4cf62c2b207
You should be able to determine if your are using the fixed code or not.

Your code should match the code with the lime coloured highlighting. If it matches the pink highlighted code then you'll need to make the changes indicated (specifically, delete the pink code and add the lime code).
Or better yet, just re-install the file from the zencart distro for your version of zencart.

    Cheers

I downloaded V1.5.4, new install, not an upgrade. My order.php file matches the one in the green not pink.

I deleted all my tax rates and zones and started over. I got the taxes to work in Pa and Ca now. I worked it out on my own. I had to go into taxable goods and add each state and their tax amounts. I had tried to add each separately along side taxable goods instead of within it. Once I did that I was able to select just taxable goods in my product and it set the tax for each. If I had done it the other way I would have had to make duplicate products for each tax zone (Ca & Pa)
