Need to change breadcrumb puzzling "::" to ">" or an arrow image? How?

Center top breadcrumb navigation has by default this :: symbol. (example: category b:: product b1)

How can it be changed to category b>product b1

(blah>blah 2>blah 3 is more intuitive than blah 1::blah 2::blah 3...)
