At what point during the upgrade did you get rid of/retired obsolete modules?
At the beginning of the upgrade.. When you upgrade you are in essence re-building.. So getting rid of the obsolete modules happened right away.. I upload a FRESH copy of the Zen Cart files, copy over the live database, run the install so the DB is upgraded, then run the uninstall SQL scripts for ANY modules not being carried forward BEFORE I install any new or upgraded modules..

Just applied to the client's server, and D@MN if that didn't solve the issue!!! **does happy dance** Looks like a query coming from one of my installed modules was the issue.. Thanks to lat9 for PMing me the fix.. Will share details once I have a more perm solutions in place.. For now the fix was to comment out part of the query causing the issue..
Thanks to EVERYONE who weighed in.. I just needed more eyes than my tired bloodshot ones..
