Create a category with image showing beside each category and each sub cat?

Here is my site.

On the left pane of the category section, I want to assign every category its image as well as sub category, is there any plugin to do it?

No plugin that I am aware of
As these cats/sub-cats are fluid(meaning they can be altered from the admin) this would require a good bit of custom coding

I remember using this addon on a 1.3.9 site some time ago - it worked well.

'You can replace any desired category names with image links.'

You'll need to check the support thread to make sure it's compatible with your ver.
