    Default Rename dist-configure.php file?

I used Softaculous to install Zen Cart v1.5.4 on my website. I'm now following the instructions here: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php...stall-zen-cart.

    It says...

On the server locate the file: /catalog/includes/dist-configure.php
Rename this file to configure.php and change the permissions to 777 (read-write-execute for all)

Next, on the server locate the file: /catalog/admin/includes/dist-configure.php
Rename this file to configure.php and change the permissions to 777 (read-write-execute for all)

What if the configure.php files already exist with the last modified date and time when I installed Zen Cart today and the dist-configure.php files are dated 12/24/14? Do I still rename these older dist-configure.php files and have them replace the configure.php files?

Those are old instructions and current versions create these files as do the one click installs

    So ignore

And background on the instructions is that at least in the recent release, the instructions didn't get the review that the files did, so there are/were some obvious oversights.

But there is always the forum to help out. :)

And... If it's not too late, start over with files downloaded from Zen Cart. Shortcuts aren't short and auto-installers aren't auto. Plus, you have no idea how recent the autoinstaller version is but can always get the most current from Zen Cart.

Ok, thank you everyone. Are these site security recommendations current or should I follow other instructions: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...ecommendations

For the most part - yes - there are are some things that have been removed i.e. tell a friend and others that are server specific
